The Lambert Art and Culture Program builds upon the culturally rich legacy of St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Our mission is to elevate the visitor experience and uplift regional pride through the presentation of artwork created by local, national, and international artists.

Through visual and performing arts and permanent and temporary exhibitions, the program aims to highlight the unique art and culture in the St. Louis region to over 16 million travelers and visitors every year. With exhibition areas in both terminals, art at STL has never been brighter.

The program was created as a component of the Airport Experience Campaign (2008-2014); the largest interior renovation of Terminal 1 in its history. An Airport Art Advisory Committee (AAAC), consisting of seven highly qualified local arts professionals appointed by the St. Louis City Mayor, oversees the program. The AAAC reviews all works considered for commission, loan, gift or temporary exhibition. Current members are Gregory Glore, marketing and fundraising professional; Lois Ingrum, president and lead photographer at the Artists Media Co-op.; Kiku Obata, Founding Principal of Kiku Obata & Co.; MK Stallings, Founder and President of Urbstetiks; Stefani Weeden-Smith, Director of St. Louis Anchor Action Network; Roseann Weiss, consultant with ART+; and design artist and illustrator Carlos Zamora.

The first project of the Lambert Art and Culture Program was the creation of nine custom, glass screens featuring artwork by local artists which were installed throughout Concourses A & C in 2012. Since those initial commissioned works, the program commissioned several other site-specific installations throughout the airport, including two new works to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the airport. The program also supports a series of curated art and culture exhibitions by local and regional artists and institutions, providing a constantly changing display to highlight the talents and cultural assets of the region.

Thanks to this program, artists whose work has graced the public spaces at STL include: Alicia LaChance, Ken Konchel, Daniel Raedeke, John Foster, Cbabi Bayoc, Solomon Thurman, Steven Ladd and William Ladd.  Many more artists have been featured in curated exhibitions by local organizations such as Craft Alliance, The Sheldon Art Galleries, The Missouri History Museum, The International Photography Hall of Fame, Griot Museum, Foundry Art Centre, and the World Chess Hall of Fame.
